Thirty-Five Senators Sign FY07 HOPWA Letter!
Bipartisan Group of Senators Request $424 Million for HOPWA in FY2007

On Wednesday, April 27th a letter was delivered to Chairman Bond and Ranking Member Murray of the Senate Appropriations Transportation/Housing Subcommittee requesting that Appropriators fund the HOPWA program at a level of $424 million for FY07.  A bi-partisan group of THIRTY-FIVE members of the Senate signed the letter supporting higher funding for the program.  NAHC and our partner organizations will use this letter to leverage support for the program as Congress moves forward in the appropriations process.

Thank you and congratulations to everyone who assisted with this effort!  Thanks to all of your hard work, after only one previous year of having a Senate letter, more than a third of the Senate signed on!  If your Senator(s) did so, please call and thank them for their support (capitol switchboard 202-225-3121).
