Senators Support Fully Funding HOPWA
On April 26, 2005, 33 Senators
signed a letter to HUD Appropriators requesting an increased funding
level for the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA)
program! The letter, co-sponsored by Senators Durbin (D-IL)
and Martinez (R-FL), requests a funding level of $385 million for
the program for FY06. The president's budget proposal requests
a grossly inadequate level of only $268 million.

please call and thank them for their support of vital HOPWA funding
increases. You can reach their offices by calling the capitol
switchboard at 202-225-3121.
